Included
with the timeline workbook are fifty pages of beautiful, hand-drawn
illustrations. The author and her husband have searched antique
stores and used book stores on each trip they have taken.
After looking on both coasts and places in between, and hundreds
of dollars later, they have many old books (mostly from the
1800's) that have wonderful illustrations. This timeline is
a combination of love of old books and beautiful illustrations
and a belief that timelines are the best way to remember history.
Of course, not everyone or everything you study will be included
in the illustration part, but many of them will be there.
Anything after 1922 will have to be obtained elsewhere because
of copyright laws. A second volume of illustrations is planned
in the future.
After your child has studied a person or event,
place the basic information on the timeline page where it
belongs. Then look for an illustration. Cut it out and glue
(permanent glue sticks are recommended) it on the timeline
page.

Can you pick out Plato, Josephus, King Alfred, Marco Polo,
Viking Ship, Columbus, Shakespeare, Patrick Henry, Phoenician
Ship, John Knox, Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci, Stocks?

Here are two examples of illustration pages.
The first is from the 1400's. The century of the page is on
the bottom right hand corner in the box so that if you are
thumbing through the book, it will be easy to spot and the
date is repeated in the top left hand corner - thinking that
would be the last part of the page to be cut away.
